LPPI has appointed Faith Ward as strategic adviser to complement its existing accomplished internal team as the pool evolves its approach to responsible investment in consultation with partner funds.

Faith joins LPPI to provide strategic guidance and practical support across the pool’s responsible investment and external advocacy activities. Faith was previously Chief Responsible Investment Officer at Brunel Pension Partnership, where she worked for almost a decade to embed responsible investment practices across the pool’s work in public and private markets. Faith’s institutional knowledge of Brunel and RI leadership in the UK and LGPS spheres are a great match for LPPI as the pool evolves to implement Fit for the Future, and simultaneously expands to serve a larger partnership of collaborating LGPS funds.

LPPI’s Head of RI, Frances Deakin, and Faith have been counterparts since LGPS pools were formed a decade ago, and share heritage working collaboratively for the benefit of the LGPS.

Her appointment follows LPPI’s successful onboarding of six new partner funds, bringing its total assets under management (AUM) to over £57bn as at 1st April 2026. To deepen the support it provides all funds, LPPI also recently welcomed 25 new joiners, including 15 from Brunel.

Chris Rule, Chief Executive Officer at LPPI, said: “We take our role as a steward of pension fund capital seriously and believe sustainable investment returns are achieved over the long term by integrating responsible investment within our investment activity. Faith is a highly accomplished expert in this field, and we look forward to working with her to realise our ambitions as an enlarged pool.”

Faith Ward, Senior Strategic Adviser, added: “I’ve been very impressed by LPPI’s work to date across all areas of responsible investment and look forward to helping the growing team further enhance its offering to partner funds. As the LGPS continues to evolve through greater collaboration, there is a real opportunity to strengthen responsible investment practices and deliver even better outcomes for members.”
