GLIL Infrastructure

GLIL Infrastructure is a collaborative investment vehicle created by and for UK pension funds. LPPI is one of its founding members and acts as the fund’s Alternative Investment Fund Manager. 

GLIL manages £4.1 billion of committed capital, with more than £3.3 billion (as of 6 November 2025) deployed into a growing portfolio of infrastructure assets spanning renewable energy, utilities, ports, logistics, trains, hospitals and schools.

The Portfolio

GLIL is an innovative collaboration between aligned and like-minded investors who are seeking investment into core infrastructure opportunities. GLIL investments are expected to have most of the following characteristics:

  • Substantially backed by durable physical assets
  • Long life and low risk of obsolescence
  • Identifiable and reliable cash flows that are explicitly or implicitly inflation-linked
  • Returns that are largely isolated from the business cycle and competition
  • Returns that show limited correlation to other asset classes
